In the State of Arizona, their Congress passed a law that has the rest of America Talking! Chicano and Latino Citizens are screaming "RACIST" and "PROFILING" at the top of their lungs.
The political leaders of both the Republican and Democrat parties are demanding the law be challenged and stricken as UNCONSTITUTIONAL! California is $145 Billion in the red, and the Mayors of San Francisco and San Diego are crying for a boycott of ARIZONA.
WHAT'S all the HUB-BUB??? BUB!
Well first of all, The politicos are all trying to woo the next great voting bloc in America. So you can't expect those vote whores to do anything to offend anyone who represents the possible future of their existence. And The SAN DIEGO VISITOR'S COUNCIL stated on our local NEWS station That, "If Conventions boycott Arizona, maybe San Diego Can benefit from this." MONEY and VOTES!!! Can it be that simple? NOPE, NOT LIKELY.
I would like to show you a few reasons why the good people in ARIZONA are right.
US CONSTITUTION
Article 4...
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican
Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on
Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature
cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
And why are the so called "Main Stream NEWS" sources CNN and MSNBC running off at the mouth like they know what is in the heart of Arizona's citizens, and declaring them racists one and all? Well MSNBC Marches to the drumbeat of the DNC, and CNN has become confused with being incredible, and having no credibility.
The facts of the matter are being obfuscated by the politics of "Please The People." Illegal Immigration is a burden on America, that can't be fixed by ignoring it. But I contend that the poor and indigent Mexicans crossing the border are not the primary concern.
The sign at the border does not look like this:
But it does say this:
Here are some of the real news articles I see, that never appear on CNN.
(PLEASE CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO READ THE ARTICLES)
Maybe This is why CNN isn't covering the true story:
THE WASHINGTON POST GETS IT:
And it's not just an ARIZONA PROBLEM:
This is just the start. I'll have part two soon.
If you're still here, THANKS For TUNING IN. STAY CLASSY SAN DIEGO.

I live in Arizona. I live about an hour from the border and I can tell you...I am scared all the time. Even worse is my friend lives about 15 minutes from the border and she is constantly having to clean her yard from the trash the illegals leave behind and walking in to find her house has been broken into again and it is food and clothing being stolen. Phoenix is the kidnap capitol of the WORLD and people are killed here in Tucson at least once a week. We used to love to go to Mexico to go shopping go to their clubs, we can't anymore. People are killed everyday right out in the streets. It is only a matter of time that it starts happening here too. Oh And when I went across the border I had to show my ID to go there and show it when I came back. And those who don't live here say to boycott us! Why because we are scared? THe law says nothing about skin color.
Thanks for posting this! And thanks for having our backs!
Politicos need to read the constitution they took an oath to uphold! And free Press my ass. Those jokers are bought and paid for. And how did Mexican become a race?
Go tell the truth man.
I like how you say what you have to say, even if others are gonna get all pissed or butt hurt. :)
This is an interesting post. The overall message is that Arizona has a crime problem related to illegal immigrants and that it needs, therefore, to divert its law enforcement resources from investigating crimes to conducting warrantless searches (which the Fourth Amendment prohibits but you forgot to mention) of people who look like they might just be illegal immigrants. But let's ignore the issue of profiling and of legal American citizens being stopped based only upon the color of their skin. Let's focus on the concerns you raise.
It's too bad the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police disagrees with you. The AACOP says that the will "hobble" law enforcement's ability to fight crime. http://www.leei.us/main/media/AACOP_STATEMENT_ON_SENATE_BILL_1070.pdf. But I guess they have no credibility when it comes to law enforcement, just like CNN and MSNBC.
I guess neither does the police union when they oppose the bill. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/152887.
And it's too bad that the Phoenix police chief disagrees with you as well. In a press conference, he said that the Arizona law will distort police priorities and that Arizona already has the tools it needs to fight crime caused by drug traffickers and/or illegal aliens. Instead, he says this law "provides a tool to divert our officers from investigating property crimes and violent crimes and divert ... our personnel to enforcing civil portions of federal immigration law." http://www.phoenix.gov/police/Current_Events.html. I guess he's wrong, too.
And it's too bad that Pima County Sheriff disagrees with you, too. http://www.kgun9.com/global/story.asp?s=12386648. As does the Yuma County sheriff (right on the border with Mexico). http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/bastard/2010/04/russell_pearce_hold_up_sheriff.php.
Oh, and since you presented a bunch of anecdotal articles about criminal incidents, you should know that crime in Arizona is down, not up, and that criminal violence has not, as a general rule, spilled over from the Mexican drug war. All that takes is a look at crime statistics. Nogales, Douglas, Yuma, and other border towns have remained flat or are down in terms of crime for about a decade. Arizona is overall way down as well. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/05/02/20100502arizona-border-violence-mexico.html.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the violent crime rate in Arizona is lower than any year since 1983. Meanwhile, the illegal immigrant population has doubled. See previous cite and http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/dataonline/Search/Crime/State/StatebyState.cfm.
So, I don't know, maybe you should be wondering why John McCain is saying that the failure to secure that border between Arizona and Mexico "has led to violence - the worst I have ever seen." Strong words for someone who has witnessed POW camp atrocities. "The violence is on the increase," he said in one interview. Really? Arizona's governor even called for National Guard troops to stem this rising tide of violence! http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/05/02/20100502arizona-border-violence-mexico.html. Wow! Considering the fact that there has been no statistical increase in crime, I wonder what this could be about? Oh, you mention that someone is trying to woo voters. Hey, isn't McCain up for reelection next year, long before the "next great voting bloc" takes power? And Jan Brewer, governor, is up for reelection, too? What a coincidence!
Yeah, the Border Patrol says that rancher Robert Krentz is the only American murdered by a suspected illegal immigrant in at least a decade within the agency's Tucson sector, the busiest smuggling route among the Border Patrol's nine coverage regions along the U.S.-Mexican border. But what do they know, right? They're just "trying to woo the next great voting bloc in America."
I wonder if this is all political whitewash to deflec from bigger issues they want to sweep under he carpet?
Raising the illegal immigrants is one hotbed that guarantees to do that internationally.
All governments use fake stats as scare tactics to create a false threat so they can step in as the one who will restore peace and security.
It's a good game-appealing to peoples' biggest fears and prejudices.
I enjoyed the post, and you speaking your mind ,as always KW. :)
Does the law apply to all people or does it only apply to Latinos?
I guess it doesn't matter the courts will decide if it is law or not.
Don't forget what Martin Neimoller said.
later...great post mister.
For the excessive length of my earlier comment, I just reread it and realized that nowhere do I thank you for your post. You plainly put a ton of work into the post and provide plenty of data. You also present your reasoning clearly. It's a very informative post, so thank you.
Also, I'm looking forward to part two.
Stogie...yes please thank the mian after all he did fight for your freedom and has metals I might add....I love this guy and will fight for him
I'm Canadian, and we are wayyyy too PC here. I personally find it annoying.
I'm not condoning malicious talk or behavior (some people are just mean for the sake of being mean), but I feel that with things that deeply matter, we should say what's on our mind without fear of offending someone or some group etc.
I like your post KW. Stay true!

the man
ROCK IT, BROTHER !!!
I got your back big man.
PS, Did you find that hacker?
@Just telling it like it is: Yep, I thank him. Although I could be wrong, I think he will agree that he fought for my freedom to disagree with him.
And, at least to me, this isn't about PC or not PC. This is, in my opinion, about supporting a law that purports to resolve a problem with violent crime by an unfunded mandate to, according to most law enforcement agencies, law enforcement unions, and law enforcement officials in Arizona, divert resources away from fighting violent crime. Feel free to disagree or present counterarguments.
Looking forward to part 2. :-)
God Bless you for writing this ! You didn't lose me ! The people that have a problem with this law obviously don't live in Arizona.
You know why Mexicans/Central Americans come here ? Because they are being screwed over by their own government, their OWN kind. Not the US.
It's so easy for the governments in Latin America to point the fingers at us and call us racist. They expect to solve their problems of poverty. They feel so entitled to let their people just wander over without having to follow the rules other immigrants have to follow.
I am sick of politically correct bullshit. People are so busy pointing fingers at Arizona that they don't realize that the main problem begins in the countries of origin of these illegal immigrants, and that they are being shafted primarily from their own kind. It is not our job to correct their problems.
I saw Jay Leno at Correspondent Dinner his best line was; “That was my favorite story (this year) Republicans and a Lesbian bondage club. It’s ironic, Republicans don’t want lesbian getting married but they do like watching them “tie the knot”. So I thought that was interesting.”
You can say the same about Tea Party (they are haters not debaters or as others have dubbed them screamers not dreamers), they say they respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence but they do not mind passing laws, through weak Governors (no one voted for this crazy) who only care about getting reelected on the backs of undocumented workers, that will not pass Constitution muster, just like Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago and your MLK Day ban, keep passing them Arizona and the rest of us will continue to challenged them in a court of law and you will fail again (and yes we will Boycott Arizona). Their phony patriotism is sickening; they are just racists going by another name. We all know you are just itching to put a sheet on their head? Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. It appears that the Republican Party is only good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots) because they continue to allow a small portions (but very loud portion) of their party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to rule their party. I will admit that this fringe is very good at playing “Follow the Leader” by listening to their dullard leaders, Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush, Savage, Sarah Bailin, Orly Taitz, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and the rest of the Blowhards and acting as ill programmed robots (they have already acted against doctors that perform abortions). The Birthers and the Tea party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and people like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits and the crazy Birthers who have not learned that the way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked internet lies, then, and only then, do you proceed to trial. The Birthers seem to be having a problem with their so called “facts”. Let’s face it no one will take the Birthers seriously until they win a case, but until then, you will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three. I heard that Orly Taitz now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC), she wants to re-establish a family values party, that’s like saying that the Catholic Church cares about the welling being of children in their care, too late for that. Yee Haw!
Actually, I think it is time for me to START following your blog!! You are doing a fine job and telling the straight story!
Blessings to you and yours, thanks and thanks again!!
