c'est la guere

Somewhere, someone is training to kill you. He's a true believer with single-minded purpose and he  is training to kill you. He's training with a minimum of water and food in austere conditions, day and night and the only clean thing on him is his weapon. He doesn't care about what workout to do, what time the sun goes up and down, what the latest happenings on television are or how cold it is outside. He doesn't care what side of the poverty line you live on, he doesn't care about the color of your skin, he doesn't even care what religion you serve or if , heaven forbid, you are an ATHEIST.  He doesn't care if you are a conservative who despises his ideology, or if you are a liberal who sympathizes with the plight of the Palestinians in the middle east.  No, all he cares about is that you are American and the liberties and freedoms that you enjoy are somehow a threat to him, they pervert his idea of justice and keep his Islamic way of life from reaching its pinnacle of world acceptance and domnation. It has been ingrained in him since he was a very young child, much the same way an American child goes to kindergarten this boy has been indoctrinated in the art of Spartan warfare to the point where he believes with all of his heart that there is a heavenly reward awaiting him for killing you and he absolutely will not stop.

Sounds like some futuristic movie script with time traveling cybernetic organisms coming to undo human control over the planet?

Let me assure you, it is not.

This is part of a plan set up by a group of men, leaders of the Islamic religion, to take control of the world using all force necessary for their particular god. There are a great many good people in the Islamic way of life, unfortunately though, none of them are in positions of authority. And the people who are in those positions of authority deem it  quite acceptable for their forces to kill those good islamic people if they refuse to join in the jihad (holy war).

On March 11, 2005 a document, written by a Al Qaeda leader was made public and it stated as its strategy to the year 2020,  these things as necessary to rid the Ummah (nation of Islam) from all forms of oppression.

1. Provoke the United States and the West into invading a Muslim country by staging a massive attack or string of attacks on U.S. soil that results in massive civilian casualties.

2. Incite local resistance to occupying forces.

3. Expand the conflict to neighboring countries, and engage the U.S. and its allies in a long war of attrition.

4. Convert al-Qaeda into an ideology and set of operating principles that can be loosely franchised in other countries without requiring direct command and control, and via these franchises incite attacks against the U.S. and countries allied with the U.S. until they withdraw from the conflict, as happened with the 2004 Madrid train bombings, but which did not have the same effect with the July 7, 2005 London bombings.

5. The U.S. economy will finally collapse by the year 2020 under the strain of multiple engagements in numerous places, making the worldwide economic system which is dependent on the U.S. also collapse leading to global political instability, which in turn leads to a global jihad led by al-Qaeda and a Wahhabi Caliphate (
Ultra Conservative, Fundamentalist Political Leader) will then be installed across the world following the collapse of the U.S. and the rest of the Western world countries.

Atwan also noted, regarding the collapse of the U.S., "If this sounds far-fetched, it is sobering to consider that this virtually describes the downfall of the Soviet Union."

al-Qaeda in particular, developed during the Islamic revival and Islamist movement of the last three decades of the 20th century, along with less extreme movements.

Some have argued that "without the writings" of Islamic author and thinker Sayyid Qutb, "al-Qaeda would not have existed." Qutb preached that because of the lack of sharia law, the Muslim world was no longer Muslim, having reverted to pre-Islamic ignorance known as jahiliyyah.

To restore Islam, he said a vanguard movement of righteous Muslims was needed to establish "true Islamic states", implement sharia, and rid the Muslim world of any non-Muslim influences, such as concepts like socialism and nationalism. Enemies of Islam in Qutb's view included "treacherous Orientalists" and "world Jewry", who plotted "conspiracies" and "wicked[ly]" opposed Islam.

In the words of Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, a close college friend of bin Laden:

Islam is different from any other religion; it's a way of life. We [Khalifa and bin Laden] were trying to understand what Islam has to say about how we eat, who we marry, how we talk. We read Sayyid Qutb. He was the one who most affected our generation.

Day in and day out I hear and see people saying things like "all religions are just pathways to the same place", or "one religion is the same as another."

Just a few days ago the Roman Catholic Church installed a new pope. His words were "to tell the world about the risen Lord Jesus Christ" and the Huffington Post debates whether or not Pope Francis is a true Latino. And CNN writes an article about how he has lunch with the old Pope, while other news rags drone on and on about whether or not the new pontiff will reinvigorate the Catholic Church.
So you see there is a very major difference in the leadership of these two religions and how the world perceives them. One wants to show you how you can be saved from perdition, while the other intends to send you there in as bloody a way as possible.
One hopes to join us together or let us be as we choose, while the other wants to bind us together and toss us into the sea.

Monday FUNNY

It's a cool spring morning and a priest is sitting alone on a park bench admiring the beauty that surrounded him. When a biker strolls up, smelling of liquor, covered in lipstick  marks on his neck and with a bottle of Jack Daniel's in his pocket and sits beside the priest. The biker opens a newspaper and gives it his full attention, but a few minutes pass and he turns and asks the priest, "Father... what causes arthritis?"
The old priest, glowers and says, "cavorting with loose women, over indulgence in liquor, carousing to late hours and not bathing regularly"
The biker says, "Well I'll be damned" and goes back to reading his paper. After a few more minutes of silence the priest starts to feel badly an turns to the biker and says, "I'm sorry son, how long have you had arthritis?"

The biker replies, "Oh I don't have arthritis, I was reading the paper and it says that's why the pope retired."

What you eat

Watching the evening news half-heartedly, I heard them announce a scientific test of ancient mummies reveal evidence of clogged arteries...

Now, before you go all postal and preachy on me, let me say that I am not telling you to change your eating habits or food orientation. If it works for you, I'm so happy for you. But what works for you may not work for me, and  it certainly doesn't work for everyone. So back to the news...

The mummified  remains of humans from several different parts of the world were put through CAT SCANS and the results showed fully 1/3 of  the mummies tested showed signs of atherosclerosis. In past studies, conducted only on mummies from Egypt, these same findings were dismissed because the doctors assumed that those people were just as lazy and had the same eating habits as we do  today. This new study, however used mummies from South America and the Arctic regions of North America and surprise, surprise, surprise... They had the same hard arteries and evidence of heart disease as we and the ancient Egyptians. My immediate reaction was one of elation, because I was sure that medical science was dead wrong on this point. If the people of the agrarian cultures of South America were dieing of heart disease and plaque build up in their arteries 4,000 years before cigarettes and Big Macs were even dreamed of, then I was just fine with my french fries and onion rings and an occasional Super Big Carl with double cheese.

"A common assumption is that the rise in levels of atherosclerosis is predominantly lifestyle-related, and that if modern humans could emulate pre-industrial or even pre-agricultural lifestyles, that atherosclerosis, or at least its clinical manifestations, would be avoided,”

“Our findings seem to cast doubt on that assumption, and at the very least, we think they suggest that our understanding of the causes of atherosclerosis is incomplete, and that it might be somehow inherent to the process of human aging.

“The fact that we found similar levels of atherosclerosis in all of the different cultures we studied, all of whom had very different lifestyles and diets, suggests that atherosclerosis may have been far more common in the ancient world than previously thought,”

said, Cardiologist  Randall Thompson, who headed up the study

Of course there were some opposing  viewpoints written that seemed to equate the cattle cooked and eaten  by the rich lazy Egyptians was the same hormone injected anti-biotic laced corn feed  beef we have on our plates today. One even went so far as to suggest that the damage blamed on smoking for the last 20 years was present 4,000 years ago  because ancient peoples cooked over open fires and ingested the smoke while cooking.

Then in another dissenting opinion, a Paleocardiologist and professor at the Icahn School of Medicine (wow talk about someone finding an obscure college degree) said that the more well nourished they were,  the longer they lived and that gave them more time to build up more plaques (to me and my BSCS degree it sounds like the good doctor is agreeing). And then a radiology professor  chimed in, that 4,000 years is barely a tick of the clock on an evolutionary scale and that man of 6,000 years ago is essentially the same as modern man (again it seems to support the new assumption that it's just a  natural thing in humans.

So eat what you desire but keep in mind what my mom used to say,

"All things in moderation"

And just so the scoffers can't say I made this up...
