Pity party is over

By now the whole world is aware of the humiliation imposed on poor little Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards. AWE poor baby. Mean old Kanye West interrupted her award speach to announce that someone else had a better video. Poor little lady. She looked like someone just crushed her kitty. The ensuing uproar was heard around the world. CNN, FOX NEWS, Google MTV, and even My Blogger Buddy Blasé posted about the incident. And he openly admittwed that he didn't watch the show. I don't know anyone who watched it, besides myself. I never miss the VMAs. The awards started in 1984, and has been on my calendar for over 20 years. So, if no one watched it, How come everyone knows about it? And everyone wants to vilify Mr. West? Ms Swift should drop to her knees and thank him profusely. He made her a star. An overnight sensation. Her career zoomed like a bullet. And if he had stayed off the dais, would you have ever heard of Taylor Swift? Can you even name the song she won for? Or what category she was nominated in?
Let it die already. There are a couple hundred singers in the world who would pay Kanye to get that kind of attention. If you want to complain about an incident at the 2009 VMAs, complain about the fact that Jack Black asked everyone in the audience and at home to hold hands and join him in a prayer to the "DARK LORD, SATAN" (His words, not mine).

Confession... this is the first I've heard of it. But I don't pay much attention to the entertainment industry.

As for Jack Black (whoever he is), WHAT!!?? Did anyone oppose him??? My blood is boiling now.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! No it isn't hard to blow out someteen candles. LOL!

Looks like I'm behind on reading your posts so better get caught up.

I didn't see it Live, but I did see the replay, like most everyone else.

Just when I thought enough folks were making excuses for sorry-ass Kanye, YOU just had to come up with another one. Darn it All!

I bet I know what Jack Black dressed up like for Halloween...

I have actually heard of Taylor Swift long before the awards show. My son thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the world. He dreams of her making him pancakes. He doesn't think she can sing all that well but apparently that isn't what matters to 20 year old guys.

I suspect most folks with young daughters do know who Taylor Swift is. (I did). But I didn't watch the shows and I didn't see what Jack Black did and that is HORRIBLE!

Yes, I agree, move it. It did give her stardom. Lucky her.

I didn't watch it either, but saw all the news coverage about Swift. Poor thing. (yeah, right....what ever.)

Did not hear about what Jack Black did tho it's not surprising. I've never been impressed w/him.

Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD

Jack Black is a comedian and does stuff like that all the time to get a rise out of people. Don't take it seriously, because he wasn't being serious. (That being said, it was probably not the best choice of actions).

Taylor won Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me" and it was a big deal because it was incredibly rude. It was horribly disrespectful and ruined a nice moment for her. I knew who Taylor Swift was before this award show, she didn't need Mr. West to make her a star.
