Even children get it right. Or From the mouths of babes.

There is a biblical principal being used in America today. It is one of the lessons from the Book of Proverbs. Prov 22:6 "Raise up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old, he will not stray from it." You may recall that the Bible calls Solomon, the writer of The Proverbs, "The Wisest Man in the world." And then it says he had 700 wives and 300 concubines. So, where's the wisdom in having 700 wives? But the teaching of youth is a very wise thing to do. However, there is a difference between teaching and indoctrination. While I am not accusing all teachers. The Teachers union in America is more involved in education than is necessary. And yet, I will say this; Rather than teaching your children "HOW" to think. Teachers today are teaching your children "WHAT" to think. This is not a Liberal vs.Conservative, or Democrat vs. Republican, or even a Socialist vs. Capitalist agenda. This is just my observation. No matter what group is in charge, they will try to teach your children WHAT to think. It doesn't matter whether it is the ultra-right wing of Fascist Nationalism or the ultra-left wing of Anarchy and Socialism. Or Ultra Religionism (Christian, Muslim, Jewish or Satanist) or extremist Secularism. Your children are the future of their system.

Joseph Stalin got it. Karl Marx got it. Mao Zedong got it. Adolph Hitler got it. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones got it. Timothy Leary and Ken Kesey got it. The Christian Church gets it. The Atheists get it. The American Patriots get it. The PRO-LIFErs get it. The PRO-CHOICErs DON'T get it. Hilary Clinton gets it. AARP doesn't get it. The New World Order gets it. The United Nations gets it, most of the time. Crosby, Stills and Nash get it. Marilyn Manson gets it. Charles Manson gets it. The Movie and Recording Industries get it. The History-Book Publishers get it. Tobacco Manufacturers get it. The Democrats and The Republicans get it. Al Gore gets it. PETA and GREEN PEACE get it. Cartoon and Comic Book writers get it. The Zero Population Growth group doesn't get it. The Environmentalists get it. The NRA and Handgun Control Inc. both get it. I get it. And Hopefully you get it. But just in case you don't get it, let me spell it out for you.
YOUR CHILDREN ARE YOURS TO RAISE. AND IF YOU DON'T DO IT. ANY OR ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE READY, WILLING AND ABLE TO DO IT FOR YOU.

The following story provides an example of a child thinking for himself despite considerable pressures to do otherwise;
The President of The United States, Barack Obama, was asked to speak at a school assembly in West Virginia. He stepped up to the podium and asked the audience for total quiet. He glanced around at the youth who were staring intently back at him. Then in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands every few seconds, his audience still sat in total silence. Then he said “Children, every time I clap my hands, another child in America dies from gun violence.”
Then little Richard Earl, with a proud West Va. Drawl, pierced the quiet and said: “Well, dumbass, stop clapping!”

I know this is a serious topic and I agree with you on it, but, you could have warned me prior to the last line, not to have a mouth full of coffee! Go Richard Earl! Now I get to clean the keyboard and screen... again! You'd think I would have learned by now, to expect the unexpected!

I sure wish our President "got it". So, do you know if Grand Funk 'gets it'??

Wrote it.

If we don't teach them, the culture will. No thank you.

Thanks for the encouragement to post the one I thought might be too personal to post.

Love this! You hit the nail on the head! We need to teach our kids to think for themselves. That means we need to learn to think for ourselves. By "we" I mean people in general. :)

Great post Commander!

Ditto! You need to be twittering because you just never know who you may influence...Every voice matters and the more folks you influence the better.
